Obituary of Donald A. Miller

Ocala - Donald A. Miller, 89, died April 15, 2010 at his home. Born in Buffalo, NY, Sept. 21, 1920 the son of the late Robert C. and Ida Stiegler Miller. He was predeceased by his only brother, Richard C. Miller in 2001 and his oldest son, Robert C. Miller in 2008. During WWII, Mr. Miller served in the US Naval Reserves as an Aviation Machinist Mate and was stationed in the South Pacific. He was the owner and founder of Miller's Sunrise Dairy in Buffalo. He was the first to place milk machines in the city. He retired at the early age of 55 and became a "snow bird" until 1992 when he purchased his home and became a permanent resident of Ocala. His children then began to move to Ocala and he has been surrounded by his whole family for the last ten years. He will be dearly missed. Donald is survived by his wife, Gloria (Zurlo) Miller, sons, Michael (Donna Fay) Miller and Wade (Linda) Darwin, daughters, Sharon (George) Kerridge and Donna (Steve) Gordon all of Ocala, grandsons, Jason (Christen) Miller of Ft. Myers and Steven Miller of Ocala, nephew, Richard (Ruth) Miller of West Barre, NY and nieces, Lynn (Curt) Futty of Bridgeville, DE and Jean (Jim) Peglow of Albion, NY. He is also survived by eight grandnephews and nieces and several cousins. Cryptside services will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Saturday from 6-8 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala.
