Obituary of Lawrence W. Chaffinch

Lawrence W. Chaffinch, age 74, of Ocala, FL passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010. He was born in Upper Darby, PA on August 2, 1936. Lawrence served in the US Army for four years. He met and married Marian R. Soulsman and together they raised one son. Lawrence worked as a Computer Systems Engineer for First Tennessee Bank. He was very instrumental in finding ways to integrate computers into the banking industry. Lawrence was a Presbyterian. He liked NASCAR racing, Civil War history and Naval history. He also enjoyed Model Railroads and Airplanes. He was an avid University of Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Lawrence was particularly proud of his son Curt including his military career with the US Navy. Lawrence and his wife moved to Ocala from Horn Lake, MS in 2003. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Marian S. Chaffinch of Ocala; son Curt W. Chaffinch, US Navy, LT of Norfolk, VA; brother William G. Chaffinch of Baltimore, MD and one granddaughter Chelsea. A graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Ocala on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
