Obituary of George Lewis Soper

SOPER, GEORGE (JACK) LEWIS Ocklawaha - George (Jack) Lewis Soper, 75, passed away on Monday, Oct. 18, 2010. Everyone knew Jack if you were a fisherman or hunter. He wasn't real happy unless he was doing one of them. He was employed at Ron's Moss Bluff Bait & Tackle. He attended Moss Bluff Baptist Church. His true passion was NASCAR racing. He was a race car driver himself known mostly on the Dirt Track Circuit up and down the East coast for more than 40 years. He has raced with some of the best old-time drivers, such as Junior Johnson, the Woods brothers, Lee Petty, Dale Jarred, Benny Parsons and Ralph Earnhart. He was the Dale Earnhart intimidator back in the old days. He is survived by his sons, Jackie L. and Charles V. Soper, his grandchildren, Wesley J., Amanda A., Ciara N., C. Kristian and Kyle W. Soper and eight great grandchildren. Arrangements by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala.
