Obituary of Joan A. Hand

SUMMERFIELD — Joan A. Hand, 75, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010. Mrs. Hand was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., and moved to Florida from Putnam Valley, N.Y., in 1994. She was a retired teacher's aide for Westchester BOCES of New York; Catholic by faith; and enjoyed bingo, gambling, bowling, ceramics and water aerobics. Survivors include her husband, William; sons William R. (Valerie), Beverly Hills, Raymond (Tracy), Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; daughters Patricia Fendorak, Clifton Park, N.Y., and Barbara Tonnesen Steven), Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; sister, Carol Stark, Ocala; and nine grandchildren, Ricky, Lauren, Eddie, Nicky, Jennifer, Jason, Stefanie, Kaitlyn, and Tara. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Lady Lake, with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, is in charge of arrangements.
