Obituary of Lawrence Gustav Flaman

Lawrence Gustav Flaman Born April 16, 1921 in Edenwald, Saskatchewan, Canada; died October 30, 2010 in Summerfield, Florida. He was raised in the Pacific Northwest of Portland, Oregon. He faithfully served our country in the US Naval Submarine Service in WW II and Naval Service in the Korean War. In WW II he served on the USS Snook, and the USS Pompano, and the USS Tirante, in addition to serving in Midway, and patrolled in the Sea of Japan. He was a member of the Subvets of WW II, Subvets Inc, the American Legion Post # 2011 in New London, CT, and the VFW Post # 8083 in Belleview, FL. Mr. Flaman was a Pfizer Retiree of 30 years. In his hobbies, he was a master gardener, and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his children, Catherine M. Flaman of Summerfield, FL; Lawrence (Denise) G. Jr. of San Diego, CA, and William J. of St. Augustine, FL; grandchildren, Travis (Nalin), and Courtney (Mike); and great-granddaughter, Leilani. Visitation will be 10:30 AM, one hour prior to service; with the funeral service scheduled for Thursday, November 4, 2010 11:30 AM at HIERS-BAXLEY FUNERAL SERVICE 352-245-2424.
