Obituary of Allan Louis Lambert

THE VILLAGES — Allan (Al) Lambert, 75, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010. Mr. Lambert was born in Maplewood, N.J., and moved to The Villages from Westfield, N.J. in 2000. He was a retired history teacher with 35 years at Thomas Alva Edison Jr. High School in Westfield; very active in the Westfield community; member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Community, Wildwood; an Army National Guard veteran; and his hobbies were gardening, fishing, reading and his computer. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; son, John, Andover, N.J.; daughters Maureen Lo Presti, Montville, N.J., Meg Ackerman, Union, N.J.; sister, Yvonne Bednar, Pine Hill, N.J.; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Community. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Villagers for Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages 32162. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, is in charge of arrangements.
