Obituary of Celine Pitts Mack

Celine Pitts Mack a resident of Ocala, Florida passed away on February 6, 2024.  She was born on March 2, 1926 in Trimble, Tennessee to the late Irving Lee Pitts and Elizabeth Jones Pitts.

She is a Graduate of University of Tennessee, from the College of Home Economics in Knoxville.  Celine taught Home Economics at Reddick High School and was the County School Health Coordinator for the Marion County School System.

Celine held many memberships and leadership with the Marion County Lung Association, Marion County Heart Association, American Cancer Society and First Presbyterian Church of Ocala.  She was also a member of PEO and a 75-year member of Delta Zeta Sorority.

She was an avid UF Gator Fan and a supporter of Marion County Musical Arts and Theater and 4-H Club.

Celine is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years, Thomas (Tommy) L. Mack, sister Lucille Pitts Headden and brother Robert Pitts.

She is survived by her daughter Margaret (Joseph) Mack Contento of Morehead City, North Carolina, son Larry (Rhonda Knorr) Mack of Ocala, Florida and grandchildren J. Mack Contento (Carter Smith), Morehead City, North Carolina, Katie Contento (Joe Sayre), Clearwater, Florida, Michelle Mack (Chandler Burns), Ocala, Florida and Allison Mack, Ocala, Florida; Great-granddaughter Adelaide Contento, Morehead City, North Carolina; nieces Dava H (Marty) Shoffner, Knoxville, Tennessee, Carolyn Pitts Shortell and nephew Bert (Cindy) Headden, Dallas, Texas.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2024, beginning at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Ocala with the Rev. Walk Jones officiating.  A reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.

Celine will be laid to rest in the Jones Family Cemetery in Trimble, Tennessee.
