Obituary of Carol Marie Jones

Ocala - On January 18, 2024, in the comfort of her home, Carol Marie Jones, aged 83, peacefully passed away. Born on May 19, 1940, in Trenton, NJ, she was the cherished wife of the late Derrell Jones, whom she married in 1959. After 56 years of shared joys and endeavors, Derrell passed away on July 12, 2016, leaving a legacy of enduring love. Carol, the daughter of the late Herman and Marie Waldbusser, spent four decades alongside Derrell, creating a successful business as Land Developers and Custom Home Contractors. In 1970, they embraced Ocala as their home after relocating from Fernandina Beach, FL. A gifted artist with a passion for travel, Carol's vibrant spirit touched the hearts of those around her. Carol will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Keith Jones and his wife Jill of Atlanta, GA, and Scott Jones and his wife Julie of Fernandina, FL, along with her daughter Vicki Ray and her husband Kevin of Ocala, FL. Carol is also remembered by her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Service will take place on Thursday, January 25, at 10:00 AM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL, officiated by Reverend Stephen Shives. The entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Ocala, FL.
