John Alvarez

Obituary of John Allen Alvarez

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die...” John 11:25 John Allen Alvarez walked into the arms of Jesus on January 10, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. After battling an aggressive disease for the last four years, we are rejoicing that he is now cancer free and healed - we look forward to the day we will all be reunited in Heaven. John was born in Hereford Texas, raised in Florida but spent majority of his life in Salinas, California - where he was owner/operator of Alvarez Truck Brokers, Inc. John is survived by his significant other Rita O’Neil, his children: Cord Alvarez, Kelby Alvarez, Cortney Alvarez Dunston (David Dunston), and Trae Alvarez. His grandchildren: Karley, Delilah, Presley, John David and Lainey. His father and stepmother: John and Olga Alvarez, his sisters: Lacy Scardasis and Christa Parodi (Brian Parodi) along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. John will be greatly missed by so many. He will forever be remembered for the love and dedication he poured into his family, the wonderful friend he was to everyone, his selflessness, being a respectable businessman, and for being the most incredible “Pappy” to his grandchildren - whom carried him through these last years as his purpose for fighting so hard was “to be around to watch them grow up.” To know John truly was to love him. A celebration of life gathering, to honor John, will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 3:00pm at: Licciardello Farms 1800 SE 160th Street, Summerfield, FL 34491 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude's Children’s Hospital or Hospice of Marion County.
