Dorothy Valentino

Obituary of Dorothy Valentino

Dorothy Valentino, 76 of Ocala, FL died peacefully in her sleep on February 18, 2021 surrounded by her family. Most that knew Dorothy knew her as Pat or Patty.  Few knew that her real name was Dorothy.

Dorothy was born to the late Clarence and Dorothy Hallgren on March 3, 1944 in Middleboro, Massachusetts where she lived until she moved to Florida with her children in 1976.

Dorothy was a loving mother to her 3 children Wayne Vaughn Jr. and his wife Linda of Ocala, Julianne Patton of Braselton, GA, her husband Donald and her youngest son Richard Hallgren Vaughn of New Port Richey and his wife Stephanie.   Dorothy is survived by her two brothers Robert Hallgren of Middleboro, MA and Kenneth Hallgren of Ocala, FL along with her Grandchildren Cassandra Brooks, Crystal Vaughn, Christine Vaughn and Brittany Vaughn and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Jenness and her Granddaughter Cynthia Marie Vaughn who was the oldest of the Granddaughters.

Those that knew her knew that she had two loves, the first was family.  Her family meant everything to her and the other was crafts.  She loved to make wreaths and ornaments for each of the Grandchildren to be placed on her Christmas tree every year.  That was so important.  She felt that even though she wasn’t able to see them as often as she would have liked, they were all placed on that tree for her and that meant that they were there with her.  She loved them dearly.

Mom, you will be loved and forever missed.  Thank you for all the love and support that you gave to those that you loved.

A memorial service for Dorothy will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services on Friday, February 26 at 2pm.
