John Noble

Obituary of John Malcolm Noble

John Malcolm Noble was born on November 23rd, 1935 in Georgetown, Guyana, son of John and Maude; he was their fifth child of seven siblings. As a young man in his twenties in Guyana, he taught Aborigine students Math, English, and Geography. He traveled to and lived in England, following his future bride, where he was employed at the Post Office. After his family relocated to the United States from England and became naturalized citizens, he worked at the Travelers for 25 years as a Programmer Analyst specializing in COBOL.

During football season, especially if the Patriots were playing, John would be glued to the TV set, cheering on his favorite team. As a self-taught horticulturalist, John spent many hours cultivating his land growing fruit trees, vegetables, shrubbery, and flowers that he would pick for his wife whenever they were in bloom. He was an avid follower of the weather to the degree where family and friends said he missed his calling in life to be a weatherman. He also loved having debates on topics of interest, a tasty Guyanese meal, and a good beer with family.

John is survived by his beloved wife Mabel; two children, Neil and Trudy; and son-in-law, Durell.
