Obituary of Donald D. Day

Donald Dean Day, 90, of Summerfield, FL passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019. He was born on June 7, 1928 in Omaha, Nebraska to Daniel and Ella Day. Donald moved to this area from Miami, FL in 2002. Donald proudly served his country in the USMC Air Corp. He was a retired commercial airline mechanic for many years and also spent many years as a minister. Donald loved spectator sports, reading, studying the Bible, and playing softball with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed anything involving family activity. Donald is remembered for being the most giving person, and how down to earth he was, he will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Day is survived by his two sons, Don (Linda) Day, Summerfield, FL, David (Maria) Day, Aventura, FL, daughter, Cindy Day, Fitzgerald, GA, sister, Gloria (Howard) Snodgrass, Marietta, GA, brother, Richard (Betty) Day, Omaha, Nebraska, 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Ruth Day.

A committal ceremony for Donald and Ruth Day will be held at Florida National Cemetery on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent at www.hiers-baxley.com.
